ed2k_shutdown is a little command line utility that cleanly shuts down
a running eDonkey2000 or Overnet command line client. It does this via the
GUI-core-protocol and needs the command line client to be configured properly
and listening on the GUI port ('aport').
Since version 0.2, ed2k_shutdown also lets you send an 'advanced command', ie.
just a simple command linen command, to a running core via the gui-core protocol.
This is useful for cron jobs and the like (e.g. for adjusting the max. upload/
download speed allowed according to time of day). Also it makes it possible to
write a simple ed2k-link handler script that sends ed2k-links from your browser
directly to the command line client (for those not using a GUI).
This tool is useful for people who run an eDonkey2000 or overnet command line
client, and who want to cleanly shut it down and restart it regularly on an
automated basis, for example through a cronjob.
ed2k_shutdown 0.2 is a port to gnet2/glib2.
If you do not have the slightest idea what this tool does, you probably don't need it ;)
UsageYou'll need to start this utility from the command line. USAGE: ed2k_shutdown host aport username password
